Nose and Sinus Procedures

Sinus Surgery

FESS, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, is a term that encompasses an approach for correction of sinus disease. Generally, surgery is indicated for:

1. Recurrent episodes of acute sinusitis which occur frequently enough to disrupt your lifestyle.
2. Chronic sinusitis unresponsive to antibiotics and/or irrigation of the sinuses.
3. Biopsy or removal of a mass or polyp within the sinuses.

These are the main reasons to perform FESS, but occasionally other problems arise which necessitate this surgery. Generally, a CT scan will be done before surgery to document which sinuses are affected and also to identify individual anatomy.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems.

Instatrak Image Guided Surgery

InstaTrak uses advanced medical technology to allow surgeons to visualize your anatomy and the position of surgical instruments during both routine and life-critical procedures. An important benefit of InstaTrak is the ability to visualize surgical instruments without a large incision, enabling less invasive treatment options for many conditions. Minimally invasive procedures require only a small incision, which can mean a shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery for the patient.
